Zangilan celebrates first City Day marking sixth anniversary of liberation

Zangilan celebrated its first City Day on October 20, marking the sixth anniversary of the city's liberation from Armenian occupation during the 2020 Patriotic War. The anniversary commemorates the date when the Azerbaijani Army regained control of the Zangilan district and surrounding settlements.

To mark the occasion, a series of cultural events were held, including the ‘Zangilan Plov Festival’ at the Zangilan Congress Center, which featured traditional regional cuisine. Other festivities included a photography exhibition titled ‘Zangilan – on the Wings of Time’, art workshops for children, and performances by the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic and the Azerbaijan State Song and Dance Ensemble.

The celebrations were supported by the Karabakh Revival Fund, the Ministry of Culture, and the Special Representative of the President in the Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts.
