Zanolini and Quintero Torres named South Tyrolean cycling champions

Pablo Zanolini and Thomas Quintero Torres have been named the South Tyrolean champions in the Esordienti first and second year road cycling categories. The titles were decided during the 12th Trofeo Barchetti, organized by Gs Alto Adige in Bolzano.

The race featured a 33-kilometer course for athletes born in 2012 and 2013, consisting of twelve laps on a flat circuit followed by a challenging three-kilometer climb at Castel Flavon with double-digit gradients. In the second-year category, Gabriele Salvati of Veloce Club Borgo secured the win after a three-man sprint, followed by teammates Jacopo D’Aquilio and Pietro Revolti.

Pablo Zanolini earned the provincial title for the first-year category after finishing fourth in the overall standings. Thomas Quintero Torres of Libertas Laives claimed the second-year championship title despite finishing ninth in the general classification. The jerseys were presented by Paolo Appoloni, president of the Fci Alto Adige/Südtirol Committee.
