ZANU PF delegation seeks Chinese investment for Zimbabwe mineral processing

A ZANU PF delegation, led by National Secretary for Economic Affairs Dr. Engelbert Rugeje, is conducting a strategic investment mission in Huizhou, China. The mission aims to secure industrial partnerships to support Zimbabwe’s policy of local mineral value addition and beneficiation, following a government ban on the export of raw natural resources.

The delegation engaged with the Huizhou International Gemstones Association to observe the gemstone value chain, including the production of jewelry and specialized building materials. The mission also focused on inspecting manufacturing plants for value-addition technology, which the Zimbabwean government intends to import to facilitate domestic mineral processing within newly established Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
