Zaolzie Children Attend Polish Language Camp in Białka Tatrzańska
From 15 to 23 July 2026, 48 children from the Zaolzie region who study in Polish schools participated in a summer camp in Białka Tatrzańska, Poland. The programme combined daily Polish‑language sessions with mountain excursions, sports activities and cultural events, aiming to improve language skills through immersive, interactive experiences.
The camp was financed by the Institute of Polish Language Development using state budget funds and organised by the travel company CTravel. Activities included hikes to the Litwinka viewpoint, a visit to Zakopane’s Natural Education Centre, a tour of the Wielka Krokiew ski jump, a rope‑course in the Slovak Bachledka forest, and a falconry show. Evenings featured swimming, games, Polish songs, a disco and a colour festival.
The initiative, titled “Vacation with Polish Language in Poland – a summer programme for Polish‑minority children and youth”, was designed to strengthen Polish language proficiency and cultural ties among the Zaolzie youth.
