Zapala rural raid results in seizure of firearms and wildlife trophies
Authorities in Zapala conducted a rural raid on an estate located approximately 30 kilometers from the city, resulting in the seizure of 17 firearms, over 5,000 pieces of ammunition and casings, and 40 wildlife trophies.
The seized weaponry included 12 double-barreled shotguns, four carbines, and one revolver, which officials noted were not in regulated safety conditions. Additionally, 40 pieces of wildlife, including red deer antlers, European wild boar heads, and a red fox skin, were recovered without the required legal documentation.
The operation was carried out by the Rural Brigade Division and the Zapala Investigation Division, with support from the Regional Pehuén Directorate of Wildlife. The findings are being investigated for potential violations of provincial wildlife laws and illegal possession of firearms.
