Facundo Moyano charged with disobedience for violating restraining order

Facundo Moyano has been formally charged with disobedience following allegations that he violated judicial restraining orders. The prosecution, led by Fiscal Florencia Nocerez, alleges that Moyano met with Candela Arizaga at the Aira Apart Hotel in Buenos Aires between August 31 and September 11.

Moyano was already under investigation for alleged minor injuries and unlawful deprivation of liberty within a context of gender violence, stemming from an incident on August 4. As part of the precautionary measures, he was prohibited from approaching Arizaga within 300 meters or maintaining any form of contact.

Investigators are currently analyzing security footage (DVR) seized from the hotel to confirm if Arizaga was present during Moyano’s stay. While initial reports from open sources suggested the encounter occurred, some preliminary findings indicated it was difficult to reconstruct the scene.

Following the rejection of his request to lift the restraining orders, Moyano’s legal team underwent changes. His previous lawyers, Alfredo Gascón and Miguel Ángel Molina, resigned citing “insurmountable differences in defense strategy,” though Moyano claimed the change was a personal decision to enter a “new stage” of the process.
