Zapocó Dam in Concepción introduces visitor entry fees

The Municipality of Concepción has implemented new entry fees for the Zapocó Dam, a major local tourist and recreational attraction. The decision follows the official delivery of the first phase of the complex's remodeling.

Under the new system, national adults are charged Bs 10, while foreign visitors are charged Bs 15. Children aged six and older, as well as senior citizens, pay Bs 5. Entry remains free for children under six and persons with disabilities. The municipality has also established fees for additional services, including boat rides, camping, parking, and cabin rentals with barbecue facilities.

To manage the new regulations, the local government has opened ticket offices and deployed security personnel to oversee the facilities. The implementation has drawn mixed reactions from the public regarding the necessity of the fees for maintenance versus the lack of prior community consultation.
