Zapopan elementary student dies after collapsing at school

A 9-year-old girl died on Tuesday inside the Francisco Villa elementary school in Zapopan, Jalisco. Emergency services were called at approximately 11:06 a.m. after reports that the child had collapsed and was unconscious.

Despite resuscitation efforts by bystanders and paramedics from Cruz Verde and SAMU, the child was pronounced dead at the scene. According to preliminary reports, the girl's parents noted she had a history of a pre-existing medical condition. Authorities from the Public Ministry are investigating to determine the exact cause of death, and the body has been transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for legal procedures.
