Zapopan renovates Colli CTM park and sports unit

The government of Zapopan has inaugurated the rehabilitation of Parque Colli CTM and the Unidad Deportiva Colli Ejidal, following a combined investment of over 32 million pesos.

The renovation of Parque Colli CTM involved 19.75 million pesos sourced from the Participatory Budget. The project covered 7,250 square meters and features new sports and recreational areas, including a multi-use court, a seven-a-side synthetic grass football pitch, a children's area with shock-absorbing flooring, and a calisthenics zone. Infrastructure improvements included universal access ramps, pedestrian walkways, public lighting, storm drainage, and irrigation systems.

Additionally, 12.98 million pesos from CusMax resources were used to renovate the Unidad Deportiva Colli Ejidal, covering 1,826 square meters. Mayor Juan José Frangie noted that the Participatory Budget mechanism has seen significant growth, with over 180,000 voters participating this year compared to approximately 50,000 in 2016.
