Zara Larsson celebrates first anniversary of ‘Midnight Sun’ album

Swedish pop artist Zara Larsson is celebrating the first anniversary of her fifth studio album, ‘Midnight Sun’, which was released on September 26, 2025, via Sommer House and Epic Records. To mark the occasion, Larsson shared a video performing a cover of Jeremih’s ‘Birthday Sex’.

The album, which features a blend of electropop, dance-pop, and drum and bass, has earned Larsson significant critical recognition, including a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Pop Recording and a Swedish Grammis nomination for Arets Pop 2026. The ‘Midnight Sun’ era included several high-profile collaborations, such as the remix companion ‘Midnight Sun: Girls Trip’, featuring artists Shakira, PinkPantheress, and Robyn.

Larsson’s recent work also includes the single ‘Hot & Sexy’ featuring Tiffany Pollard and the track ‘Stateside’ with PinkPantheress. Her creative process often involves collaborative writing camps in Stockholm, a method she credited for the development of her hit single ‘Lush Life’.
