Colombia's Ministry of Labor inspects Zara store in Bogotá

The Colombian Ministry of Labor conducted unannounced inspections at a Zara store located in the Unicentro shopping mall in Bogotá. The store is operated by the firm Texmoda S.A.S.

The inspections were prompted by social media reports regarding alleged labor abuse involving an employee, María Alejandra Rojas. Rojas claimed that management required her to remove her footwear, forcing her to work barefoot after being told her shoes were not part of the official uniform.

Government officials from the Bogotá Territorial Directorate evaluated compliance with labor regulations, social security coverage, and occupational health and safety standards. While the inspection is complete, the Ministry is currently consolidating its findings to determine if improvement plans or preventive measures against Texmoda are necessary.
