Zaragoza Airport to expand route network to 31 destinations by 2027

The Government of Aragón and the Zaragoza City Council have announced a major expansion plan for Zaragoza Airport, aiming to increase its network from 12 to 31 routes starting in March 2027. The initiative involves a 20.5 million euro program to launch 20 new destinations through a public tender covering 29 different route lots.

Proposed international connections include cities such as Budapest, Prague, Bratislava, Warsaw, Kraków, Manchester, Porto, and Tangier. The plan also seeks to restore previously lost connections to Paris, Düsseldorf, and Venice. Depending on the tender results, the airport may also establish links to a Swiss city, such as Zurich, Geneva, or Basel.

This expansion is described as the largest in the airport's history and is intended to address gaps in regional connectivity following the reduction of routes by carriers like Ryanair. The new schedule will include varying frequencies, with some routes operating year-round and others being seasonal, such as flights to Ibiza or Manchester.
