Zaragoza and Río Gallegos begin public housing lottery allocations

The Zaragoza city council held two notarial lotteries to allocate the first 78 affordable rental units funded with European Union money. Out of 9,292 validated applications, priority was given to vulnerable groups such as persons with reduced mobility, large families, single parents and young people. Winners will be contacted for documentation verification and the apartments are expected to be ready between August and October 2026.

In Río Gallegos, the Santa Cruz provincial Institute of Urban Development and Housing (IDUV) published the final register of 260 families eligible for its upcoming housing lottery, scheduled for late July to early August. The process, overseen with the Lotería para Obras de Acción Social, emphasizes transparency through publication in the official bulletin. Construction of the units is about 95 % complete, with the first deliveries anticipated in early August.
