Olavarría Mayor Halts Los Palmares Urban Project After Legal Ruling
The Municipality of Olavarría issued Decree 3.246, signed by Mayor Maximiliano Wesner, to reject the Los Palmares urban development. The decision follows a legal opinion from the Dirección de Asuntos Legales dated 29 May, authored by director Ayelén Bahía. The opinion concluded that the project is legally incompatible with Provincial Law 14.449 on Access to Habitat, citing irregularities such as premature parcel sales, multiple‑lot acquisitions, and a pending criminal complaint filed by the municipality.
The legal report advised that the venture no longer meets the juridical, urbanistic, and material criteria required for the “Lotes con Servicios” program, and recommended that the municipal authority refrain from approving the urban‑convention signed in November 2023. Consequently, the municipality will not move forward with the convalidation of the Los Palmares scheme.
