Zastava Oružje factory workers receive July advance as wage delays spark protests

Workers at the Zastava Oružje arms factory in Kragujevac, Serbia, were paid a July salary advance after a two‑day delay that left roughly 2,200 employees without basic income. The plant’s union warned that the financial crisis threatens the workers’ livelihood and called on management to secure timely wage payments.

In Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, miners from the RMU Zenica coal mine have been protesting for four days over unpaid May and June salaries, while awaiting the July wage. Ten miners remain camped inside the “Raspotočje” shaft, and the union highlighted large debts to the health‑insurance fund and the risk of further unrest if payments are not secured.
