Zaton hosts inaugural ‘Basket u Jazu’ basketball tournament

The inaugural ‘Basket u Jazu’ basketball tournament was held on August 22 and 23 at the newly constructed basketball court on Jaz Beach in Zaton. The event featured competitions for children and adults.

The first day focused on youth 3x3 basketball, with over 30 children participating. The girls' category was won by the Nin Basketball School team, followed by ŽKK Zadar in second place and a mixed team from Nin Basketball School in third. Shooting competitions were also held for both children and adults.

The second day featured an adult tournament where the team ‘4P’ secured first place, defeating the ‘Drage 1’ team in the final. A highlight of the event was the participation of legendary basketball player Veljko Petranović, who led his team, ‘Dream team 2026.’, to a third-place finish. During the tournament, Petranović was presented with a personalized KK Zadar jersey in honor of his 67th birthday. Organizers intend for ‘Basket u Jazu’ to become a traditional annual event in Zaton.
