Zavier Hope reflects on sudden Dodgers trade to Tigers
Former Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Zavier Hope has reflected on the sudden nature of his trade to the Detroit Tigers. During a recent podcast appearance, Hope described the experience as a shock, noting that he was unaware of the impending move.
Hope revealed that just minutes before a Double-A game on August 2, he was removed from the starting lineup and told to ‘wait’ without further explanation. While other players were discussing trade rumors, Hope stated he was left sitting without any information, remarking, ‘It’s unbelievable. I have absolutely no control. I’m just waiting for someone to tell me where I’m going.’
As part of the deal that brought pitcher Tarik Skubal to the Dodgers, Hope was sent to Detroit along with pitchers River Ryan and Brady Smith. Since the trade, Hope has played 30 games in Double-A, recording a .269 batting average with six home runs and 24 RBIs.
