Zavier Scott signs with Chicago Bears practice squad

The Chicago Bears have signed running back and wide receiver Zavier Scott to their practice squad. Scott, 27, was recently waived by the Minnesota Vikings, a division rival in the NFC North.

During the previous season, Scott appeared in 16 games for the Vikings, recording 114 rushing yards on 32 carries and 98 receiving yards with one touchdown on 14 receptions. He also contributed significantly on special teams, playing 149 snaps.

Scott joins a Bears backfield led by starter D’Andre Swift. His arrival comes as backup Kyle Monangai deals with a hyperextended knee. Scott is expected to compete with Roschon Johnson and Salvon Ahmed for a position on the team’s 53-man roster.
