Zayed Charity Run brings 50 Emirati runners to Rio de Janeiro

Fifty Emirati runners are set to participate in the second Brazilian edition of the Zayed Charity Run, scheduled for 23 August 2026 at Flamengo Beach in Rio de Janeiro. Led by Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Mohamed Helal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee, the delegation aims to combine athletic competition with humanitarian support.

All registration proceeds from the event will benefit Grupo Cultural AfroReggae through its Criança Esperança programme. This initiative focuses on social inclusion, education, and culture for children and young people within participating communities. The event features 5 km and 10 km races, with prizes exceeding BRL 500,000, including cash awards and Emirates Airline tickets.

The event is organized by the Zayed Charity Run and Erth Abu Dhabi, with support from the UAE Embassy in Brazil and corporate partners such as Mubadala and Emirates Airline.
