Zayo, Nvidia Build 8,000 Miles of Fiber for AI in North America
Digital infrastructure provider Zayo is constructing more than 8,000 miles of new long‑haul fiber across North America in partnership with Nvidia. The routes target the fastest‑growing AI corridors and include six new long‑haul lines and capacity upgrades at ten high‑demand sites, aiming to close the network‑capacity gap that limits AI factories, GPU clusters and hyperscaler deployments.
Zayo CEO Steve Smith said, “AI is fundamentally reshaping where and how network infrastructure needs to be built across the US.” SemiAnalysis CEO Dylan Patel added, “The next constraint for AI is not just compute – it is the ability to connect massive, distributed AI infrastructure at scale.” The collaboration is intended to provide a scalable connectivity layer that supports the expanding AI supply chain.
