Zübeyde Hanım Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School celebrates nearly a century
Zübeyde Hanım Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Ankara, established in the early years of the Turkish Republic, continues to provide vocational training for women. Originally founded in 1928 as the ‘İsmet Paşa Girls' Institute’ to address the need for tailors, the institution was designed by German architect Ernst Arnold Egli.
Over its nearly 100-year history, the school has undergone several transformations. In 1935, it hosted a program to train teachers for girls' art schools. In 1969, it was renamed after Zübeyde Hanım, the mother of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Today, the school offers vocational education in seven distinct fields: Fashion Design Technologies, Graphics and Photography, Public Relations, Information Technologies, Food and Beverage Services, Child Development and Education, and Beauty Services.
