Zbigniew Boniek names Lech Poznań as Polish league favorite

Former PZPN president Zbigniew Boniek has identified Lech Poznań as the primary favorite to win the Polish championship. Speaking on the ‘Prawda Futbolu’ program, Boniek highlighted the club’s superior human potential and offensive quality, stating that the team is on a ‘different level’ compared to its domestic rivals.

Despite his praise for their Ekstraklasa performance, Boniek offered criticism regarding the club’s recent European outings. He noted that while Lech Poznań excels against weaker opponents, they struggle significantly when facing stronger competition in the Europa League, citing heavy losses against teams like Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen.

Lech Poznań currently sits in second place in the league standings, having secured 25 points from ten matches. Boniek suggested that while Legia Warsaw has dropped out of the title race, Lech remains the team with the highest potential to secure the trophy.
