Ząbkowice Śląskie officials dispute training trip costs

A controversy has emerged in Ząbkowice Śląskie regarding the costs of a training trip taken by employees and managers of the District Starosty in December 2025. Councilman Wojciech Maj raised questions concerning the expenditure of public funds, specifically highlighting a 1,800 PLN cost for the deputy starosta’s stay in Łomnica. Maj questioned the purpose of the trip, noting that according to the agreement, the stay was described as being “without participation in the training.”

District Starosta Roman Fester has denied these allegations, stating that the claims are inconsistent with the facts. Fester clarified that the deputy starosta did participate in the first day of the training and that her early departure for personal reasons was reported to the employer, resulting in a proportional reduction of the cost. He further asserted that the necessary documents have been provided to the Audit Committee.
