Özcan Deniz testifies in sibling insult lawsuit

Turkish singer Özcan Deniz appeared as a witness at the Aydın Courthouse to support his sister, Sibel Deniz Semerci, in an insult lawsuit filed by their other siblings, Ercan Deniz and Yurda Deniz.

Following the hearing at the Aydın 4th Criminal Court of First Instance, Deniz described the lawsuit as “unjust and groundless.” He argued that his sister’s comments, which included the term “mistress” and a warning to protect their mother and youngest sister, were made in a protective context rather than as intentional insults.

The court has issued a notice for advance payment regarding the defendant, Sibel Deniz Semerci. If the payment is made, the case is expected to be dropped.
