Zcash mining revenue surges to $727 per MWh amid price rally
Zcash (ZEC) is experiencing a significant market rally, with its price recently reaching approximately $890. This surge has resulted in Zcash mining generating an estimated $727 per megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity, a figure that substantially exceeds the revenue generated by Bitcoin mining and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads.
According to analysis from TheEnergyMag, the Bitmain Antminer Z15 Pro, used for Zcash mining, produces more than four times the revenue per MWh compared to the Bitmain Antminer S23 Pro used for Bitcoin. This revenue gap has widened significantly as ZEC's price increased by roughly 70% in a single week.
In the United States, Grayscale Research has expressed a bullish outlook, suggesting that Zcash could reach $8,100 by 2030 if it captures 10% of Bitcoin's market capitalization. Grayscale also noted that the launch of a Zcash ETF (ticker: ZCSH) on the NYSE Arca provides investors with spot exposure to the asset.
On the infrastructure side, Cypherpunk Technologies recently completed a $33.33 million equity deal to acquire 4.2 gigasols per second of hashrate, securing approximately 18% of the Zcash network's total hashing capacity.
