Zcash price retreats from $1,600 following recent rally
Zcash (ZEC) has experienced a price pullback following a significant rally that saw the cryptocurrency reach a year-to-date high of approximately $1,590. After the recent peak, the price retreated to levels around $1,429 to $1,443, representing a daily loss of about 5%. Despite this correction, the asset remains in a predominantly bullish technical structure, trading well above its major moving averages and maintaining a 31% gain over a seven-day period.
Several fundamental developments are influencing the market. Grayscale announced a 3-for-1 share split for its $914 million Zcash ETF, an adjustment intended to lower the per-share price without altering total investor value, effective September 30. Additionally, a governance debate has emerged among prominent investors, including Naval Ravikant, regarding the future of the Zcash Development Fund, which is set to expire in 2028.
