Zdeněk Pohlreich criticizes Pancho’s restaurant in Plzeň

Chef Zdeněk Pohlreich visited the Pancho’s Mexican restaurant in Plzeň as part of the TV Prima show ‘Ano, šéfe!’. The establishment, which has been managed by Petr Ivanič for eleven years, is currently struggling.

Pohlreich criticized the restaurant for a lack of authenticity and flavor, describing the food as theatrical but tasteless. He noted that ingredients, such as the jalapeños, appeared to be pre-cooked or marinated rather than fresh, and suggested that some items looked as though they had been sitting in the kitchen for some time. He also commented that the decor lacked taste.

The harsh critique had a significant emotional impact on Ivanič, who reportedly broke down during the confrontation. Pohlreich interpreted this reaction as a positive sign that the staff cares about improving the business. Additionally, the chef confronted the owner regarding the lack of proper management and care for the establishment.
