Zdenka Schelingová's sainthood cause advances following Denver miracle

The path toward sainthood for Blessed Zdenka Schelingová has advanced following the submission of a dossier regarding an alleged miracle in Denver. The postulator of her cause, Father Lucián Bogucki, delivered the "positio super miro" to the Archbishop of Bratislava, Stanislav Zvolenský.

The document details an extraordinary healing reported to have occurred through Schelingová's intercession. A commission of cardinals is expected to discuss the document in the coming months, though the final decision regarding her canonization remains with the pope.

Born Cecília Schelingová, the Slovak religious sister was a member of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross. She was arrested, tortured, and imprisoned by the communist regime in Czechoslovakia after attempting to help a priest escape. She died in 1955 from the effects of her treatment. She was exonerated of all charges in 1970 and beatified by Pope John Paul II in 2003.
