Zdenko Bašić presents ‘Začarani Jadran’ book in Pula
The new illustrated book ‘Začarani Jadran’ (Enchanted Adriatic) by award-winning author and designer Zdenko Bašić was presented at the Circolo venue in Pula. The book, subtitled ‘Potraga za skrivenim gospodarom voda’ (Search for the Hidden Master of the Waters), serves as the concluding event of the two-year SOCRAT project.
The SOCRAT project, which focuses on networking crafts and contemporary art to promote sustainable tourism, is part of the Interreg Italy-Croatia 2021–2027 program. It is implemented by the Department for Culture and Heritage of Istria County. The project aims to connect contemporary art, craftsmanship, and traditional trades to promote the shared heritage of both the Croatian and Italian sides of the Adriatic.
During the presentation, Istrian County Prefect Boris Miletić emphasized the importance of exploring intangible heritage through such creative works. Other speakers included Vladimir Torbica, Sandra Ilić, Dr. Deniver Vukelić, and Dr. Lidija Nikočević.
