Zdeno Chara farewell game to feature Boston Bruins legends in Slovakia

Twenty-one former and current Boston Bruins players and NHL alumni will gather in Trenčín, Slovakia, for ‘Zee’s Final Shift,’ a farewell game honoring longtime captain and Hockey Hall of Famer Zdeno Chara. The event is scheduled for Friday, August 21, at the Pavol Demitra Ice Hockey Stadium, where Chara began his skating career.

The roster features prominent figures from the Bruins’ 2011 Stanley Cup championship team, including Patrice Bergeron, Ray Bourque, and David Pastrňák. Other participants include Jaromír Jágr, Marián Hossa, and Miroslav Satan. While Brad Marchand was originally slated to play, he has been replaced by Jozef Stumpel due to recent surgery.

The game will be televised on the Slovakian outlet JOJ ŠPORT, with additional behind-the-scenes content provided via the event’s Instagram account.
