Zdeno Chára holds farewell exhibition game in Trenčín

NHL legend Zdeno Chára officially concluded his professional hockey career with a star-studded farewell exhibition game titled ‘Zee’s Final Shift’ in his hometown of Trenčín, Slovakia. Held at the Pavol Demitra Ice Arena, the event featured a matchup between Team Boston and Team World.

Team Boston, composed of former Bruins teammates including Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak, and Ray Bourque, defeated Team World 13-8. The game featured numerous international hockey icons such as Jaromír Jágr, Anže Kopitar, and Marián Hossa. During the event, Chára recreated his record-setting hardest shot, reaching 108.8 mph.

Chára, a Hockey Hall of Famer and Stanley Cup champion, shared an emotional moment at the conclusion of the game, leaving his skates on the ice and walking off with his twin sons. The event also served as a charity initiative for schools in Slovakia.
