ZDF alters programming for German Unity Day
The German public broadcaster ZDF is implementing significant changes to its Saturday programming schedule on October 3 to observe German Unity Day. The adjustments prioritize special programming focused on German reunification.
The morning schedule includes a live broadcast of an ecumenical service from St. Petri-Dom in Bremen at 10:00, followed by the documentary ‘Im Osten was Neues’ at 11:00, which examines the development of East Germany following the reunification. These broadcasts will cause shifts for regular series, with ‘Notruf Hafenkante’ moving to 11:35 and ‘SOKO Stuttgart’ starting at 12:20.
In the early evening, regular programming such as ‘ZDF. reportage’ and the series ‘Der Bergdoktor’ will be replaced or paused. Instead, the broadcaster will air documentaries such as ‘Meine D-Mark - Als die DDR das Westgeld bekam’ at 17:45.
