ZDF and SWR unveil 2026 film lineups for Sunday and Saturday prime time

Germany’s public broadcasters have announced their 2026 prime‑time film schedules. ZDF’s “Herzkino” season begins on 30 August 2026 with the romantic comedy “Eine Wingwoman verliebt sich nicht,” followed by weekly slots featuring new Rosamunde Pilcher and Inga Lindström dramas such as “Die Glücksbringerin,” “Bloß nicht Liebe,” and “Rezept für die Liebe.”

SWR’s “Samstag ist Wunschfilmzeit” will run from 15 to 29 August 2026, letting viewers vote each Friday for the classic film to be shown the following Saturday at 20:15. The first week’s shortlist includes the 1974 version of “The Great Gatsby,” “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” (1961), and “Pride and Prejudice” (2005). Winners will also be available in the ARD Mediathek.
