ZDF announces new series episodes and cancels ‘Die Maiwald’

ZDF has announced upcoming programming updates for its evening series lineup, while also confirming the cancellation of the medical fiction series ‘Die Maiwald’.

New episodes for three established series are scheduled to air soon. ‘Notruf Hafenkante’ will debut its first of 23 new episodes on September 24, with streaming availability starting September 17. The hospital drama ‘Bettys Diagnose’ will premiere its first of 22 new episodes on September 25, following a similar release pattern. Additionally, ‘Die Rosenheim-Cops’ will return with 24 new episodes starting October 6.

In contrast, the series ‘Die Maiwald’, starring Doris Schretzmayer as a veterinarian, will not be renewed. Despite attracting over three million viewers per episode, the network decided not to proceed beyond the initial two films, citing competition from other programming such as ‘Einfach Elli’.
