ZDF announces ‘Terra X: Weltstädte’ documentary series

Psychologist and presenter Leon Windscheid will explore the identity and history of three major metropolises in the new ZDF documentary series ‘Terra X: Weltstädte’. The series focuses on London, Tokyo, and Rome, examining how their historical roots and unique atmospheres shape modern coexistence.

In the London episode, Windscheid investigates the city’s evolution from a global power center to a modern trendsetter, meeting locals and exploring hidden locations. The Tokyo segment examines the city’s resilience and efficiency, looking at how it has rebuilt itself following historical disasters and wars to become a model of precision and cleanliness.

The episodes will be available on the ZDF streaming portal starting August 26, 2026, with television broadcasts beginning August 30, 2026.
