München Mord series undergoes cast changes after Alexander Held's death
The ZDF crime series ‘München Mord’ is undergoing significant cast changes following the death of actor Alexander Held in May. Held, who played Commissioner Ludwig Schaller, will appear in one of his final filmed episodes, ‘Die Stadt, die es nicht gibt’, which is scheduled to air on August 22.
Another episode featuring Held was completed prior to his death and is expected to broadcast in December. While the future of his character remains undecided, ZDF has confirmed that production for two additional episodes will begin this autumn.
The series is also seeing the departure of Christoph Süß, who played Kriminaloberrat Helmut Zangel for twelve years. He is being replaced by Eva Karl Faltermeier, a Bavarian cabaret artist, who will portray the new team leader, Dr. Linda Hösl.
