ZDF crime series Nord Nord Mord returns with new Sylt mystery

The popular ZDF crime series ‘Nord Nord Mord’ returns with its 29th installment, titled ‘Sievers und der Gesang der Wale’. Set on the island of Sylt, the episode explores the contrast between the island's current status as a luxury destination and its historical roots in whaling and poverty.

The plot begins when a body is discovered in the harbor of Hörnum. The investigation is led by Chief Inspector Carl Sievers, played by Peter Heinrich Brix, alongside colleagues Hinnerk Feldmann and Ina Behrendsen. Initial suspicions point toward a motive of jealousy involving a local young man and a member of a wealthy family from Hamburg.

Beyond the central mystery, the series continues to draw significant viewership, with previous episodes reaching millions of viewers. Long-time fans also follow the evolving interpersonal dynamics between the recurring investigators Ina and Hinnerk.
