ZDF‑Fernsehgarten airs 'Rock im Garten' episode on 2 August 2026
The ZDF‑Fernsehgarten open‑air summer show celebrates its 40th season with a special episode on Sunday, 2 August 2026. Hosted by Andrea Kiewel from the Lerchenberg site in Mainz, the programme runs from 12:00 to 14:00 CET and adopts the theme “Rock im Garten”, swapping its usual schlager focus for heavy‑metal and rock performances.
The guest lineup features German metal icon Doro Pesch, Scottish hard‑rock band Nazareth, and a range of other rock acts such as Kissin’ Dynamite, Xandria, Brother Firetribe, Angus McSix, Evil Jared × Krogi and HOKKA. Comedy‑musician Bülent Ceylan, TV chef Ralph Zacherl and former rhythmic‑gymnastics champion Magdalena Brzeska also appear. The show includes novelty segments like an extreme obstacle run, “Metal Yoga”, and a “Moorbaden” segment.
After this episode the Fernsehgarten will pause in early August for a special summer party, before resuming later in the season.
