ZDF Fernsehgarten cancelled for August 9, replaced by quiz
The live edition of ZDF Fernsehgarten scheduled for Sunday 9 August 2026 on the Mainzer Lerchenberg was cancelled because the venue is occupied by the open‑air recording of the Giovanni Zarrella Show. ZDF announced that instead of the usual live programme a two‑hour quiz, “ZDF‑Fernsehgarten – Das Quiz”, will be broadcast at the regular time. The quiz, hosted by Let’s Dance judge Joachim Llambi, celebrates the show’s 40‑year history and pits presenter Andrea Kiewel against three regular guests – singer Vincent Gross, actress Janine Kunze and comedian Lutz van der Horst. The Zarrella Show, recorded on 8 August, is a three‑hour summer party featuring guests such as Vanessa Mai, Kerstin Ott and Semino Rossi, and will be streamed from 20:15 on 29 August. The change was confirmed by ZDF’s ticket service, which noted the scheduling conflict as the reason for the Fernsehgarten interruption.
