ZDF-Fernsehgarten celebrates 40th anniversary season in 2026

The ZDF entertainment show ‘Fernsehgarten’ is celebrating its 40th anniversary season in 2026. The open-air program, hosted by Andrea Kiewel, features 20 episodes broadcast from Mainz throughout the summer.

During a recent broadcast on August 30, the show hosted a ‘Schlagerparty’ featuring musical guests such as Vanessa Mai, Semino Rossi, Nicole, Anna-Carina Woitschack, and Joelina Drews. In another unusual segment on August 23, the show featured a Christmas theme in the middle of summer, complete with artificial snow, reindeer, and festive decorations, a concept motivated by the show's absence from the schedule during December.

In a separate incident during a live broadcast, host Andrea Kiewel had to briefly interrupt an interview after being stung by a wasp that became caught in her clothing. Kiewel used a traditional home remedy to manage the pain and continued the program following a musical performance.
