ZDF Fernsehgarten Giovanni Zarrella program change August 2026

The German public broadcaster ZDF will suspend its live "Fernsehgarten" programme on Sunday, 9 August 2026. Instead, the network will air a recorded edition of "ZDF‑Fernsehgarten – Das Quiz", in which host Andrea Kiewel and guests review 40 years of the show.

The pause is caused by the production of the "Giovanni Zarrella Show" on 8 August, an open‑air special recorded on the Fernsehgarten grounds in Mainz. This preparation prevents the regular live broadcast the following day. The standard live Fernsehgarten is scheduled to resume on 16 August with a "Mallorca" theme.
