ZDF releases new 'XY history' true-crime films
ZDF is releasing two new installments of its true-crime series 'XY history,' hosted by Sven Voss. The series explores significant criminal cases from German history.
The first film, titled 'Die Jagd nach dem Hammermörder,' investigates a series of murders in the Stuttgart area during the mid-1980s. The perpetrator, Norbert Poehlke, was a police officer who killed three drivers and used their vehicles for bank robberies. He earned the nickname 'Hammermörder' due to his use of a sledgehammer during robberies.
The second film examines a case from the former DDR, focusing on the disappearance of children in Eberswalde in May 1969.
