ZDF reporter Fabian Köster faces threats after confrontation with AfD politician

ZDF reporter and comedian Fabian Köster has faced intense hostility and violent threats from supporters of AfD politician Ulrich Siegmund following a provocative encounter. The confrontation occurred after Siegmund, the AfD's top candidate for Minister-President in Saxony-Anhalt, declined scheduled interviews with ZDF.

Köster attended a public appearance by Siegmund to engage in a confrontational exchange, which was subsequently featured in a 'Heute-Show' special titled ‘High Noon im Osten’. During the interaction, Köster raised questions regarding controversial party policies, while Siegmund responded with counter-questions or avoided the topics.

Ulrich Siegmund, a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament and co-chairman of the AfD parliamentary group, is currently leading in polls for the upcoming state elections, with the AfD at approximately 40 percent.
