ZDF show ‘Bares für Rares’ features record Jaguar sale and miniature antiques
The ZDF antiques show ‘Bares für Rares’ has seen several record-breaking sales, including a standout deal involving a 1968 Jaguar E-Type Coupé. The red classic car, which had been owned by a single owner since 2002, was sold for 60,000 euros after a bidding war between dealers. Expert Sven Deutschmanek had estimated its value between 70,000 and 80,000 euros.
In a different segment, a participant from Remscheid brought a miniature heirloom to the show. The object, a tiny book only the size of a fingertip, contained the phrase ‘I love you’ in various languages. The miniature item, printed to benefit the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz, was identified by expert Detlev Kümmel as a piece from the 1960s.
