ZDF to broadcast award-winning drama ‘In die Sonne schauen’

The award-winning drama ‘In die Sonne schauen’ by Mascha Schilinski is set to make its free-to-air television premiere on ZDF. The film previously won ten awards at the German Film Awards, including the ‘Goldene Lola’ for best feature film.

Set on a farm in Altmark, the story follows four young women living in different eras, spanning from the 1910s through the 1940s and 1980s to the present day. The film utilizes an experimental and non-linear narrative style to explore themes of intergenerational trauma, violence, and intimacy through atmosphere and imagery rather than a traditional plot.
