ZDF to end long-running crime series 'Ein Fall für zwei

The long-running German crime series 'Ein Fall für zwei' is approaching its end. ZDF has announced that the broadcaster will terminate the format, which has been a staple of German television since 1981.

Lead actor Antoine Monot, who has played lawyer Benjamin Hornberg alongside Wanja Mues as detective Leo Oswald since 2014, expressed that learning about the cancellation via a telephone appointment was a 'blow'.

The final season is expected to consist of four episodes and is slated for broadcast in 2027. The upcoming twelfth season, featuring Monot and Mues, begins on September 11 with new cases set in Frankfurt.
