Zebegény authorities close Danube riverbank due to beaver damage

In Zebegény, local authorities have closed off a section of the Danube riverbank near the beach volleyball court due to a significant safety hazard. Beavers have heavily gnawed on several trees, leaving them in a state where they could fall at any time, posing a risk to pedestrians and children.

The municipality is seeking guidance from the Duna–Ipoly National Park Directorate and environmental experts to find a solution that protects human safety while respecting the habitat of the beavers and local conservation values. The area will remain closed until the danger is mitigated.
