Zebre Parma bolsters squad and expands community rugby project

Zebre Parma is addressing front-line player shortages, particularly in the prop position, following injuries and the departure of Matteo Nocera to Lyon. To bolster the squad, the club has confirmed three Argentine permit players for the 2026/27 season: Juan Ignacio Castellano, Juan Barbotti, and Filippo Alongi. Additionally, there are indications that the club may sign right-handed prop Enzo Avaca, who has previously played for Mogliano and Benetton.

Separately, the franchise is expanding its 'Zebre Legacy' project for the 2026/27 season. Led by Luca Raza, the initiative focuses on three pillars: support, training, and community belonging. The project aims to strengthen ties with local rugby clubs by sharing international expertise and technical skills in collaboration with the Italian Rugby Federation. A new 'Rugby Village' format will be introduced to engage families and communities in various cities, alongside a dedicated community project for the San Leonardo district in Parma.
