Zeekr expands EV lineup and battery technology

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Zeekr is expanding its product offerings and technical capabilities. The company has announced updates for its 7X SUV, which will feature a larger 85 kWh Aegis Golden Brick battery in its base model for the 2027 production year. This new battery, developed by Geely, is expected to offer a range exceeding 530 km on the WLTP cycle and boasts a life expectancy of 1 million km.

Zeekr, a premium brand under the Geely umbrella, is gaining attention for its competitive pricing and high-end features. Recent evaluations of models such as the Zeekr X, Zeekr 7X, and the Zeekr 001 shooting brake have highlighted high-quality interiors, advanced audio systems, and significant performance metrics. For instance, the Zeekr X features a dual-motor setup producing 422 hp, while the 001 shooting brake can deliver up to 536 hp.

While Zeekr models are currently available in markets like China and Australia, they have not yet entered the United States market. However, the brand's combination of luxury features and relatively affordable pricing in international markets is drawing scrutiny from automotive enthusiasts and observers of the global EV landscape.
