Zeekr rejects battery-swapping plans to focus on fast charging

Zeekr has clarified that it has no plans to develop battery-swapping models, despite the recent strategic partnership between Geely Holding Group and NIO in the charging and swapping sector.

The company stated its future product roadmap will focus on two primary directions: pure electric vehicles with ultra-fast charging capabilities and its proprietary ‘浩瀚’ (浩瀚) super hybrid models. Zeekr highlighted its 900V high-voltage architecture, noting that the updated Zeekr 001 can charge from 10% to 70% in an average of 4 minutes and 30 seconds when using Geely’s rapid charging stations.

Regarding hybrid technology, Zeekr reported that its super hybrid models can achieve a maximum combined range of 1,250 kilometers, with a pure electric range of up to 380 kilometers and a 20% to 80% charge time of just 9 minutes. This comes following the agreement where Geely Holding Group will acquire a 30% stake in NIO Energy to co-build unified battery-swapping standards and services.
